IPL or Intense Pulse Light uses heat energy from light to
selectively destroy unwanted veins, pigmented or vascular lesions
and hair follicles. IPL also stimulates mild inflammation which in
turn stimulates regeneration of collagen tissues. This improves
skin tone. The pigment in the treated area, (melanin or blood)
absorbs the IPL energy while surrounding skin is left unharmed.
The VascuLightSR uses the principle of selective
photothermolysis. IPL uses intense pulsed light in the visible
spectrum to perform a number of beneficial services, including:
- remove hair
- rejuvenate skin
- treat portwine stains
- treat spider veins
- treat varicose veins
- remove tattoos
FotoFacial
FotoFacial treatments improve skin tone and complexion.
FotoFacial Treatments are perfomed on full face, neck and/or
chest treatments using pulses of visible light that effectively
improve facial redness as seen in rosacea or in 'flushers and
blushers', 'redneck' and as well as the obvious signs of sun damage
and aging. Pretreatment of the skin in certain skin types may be
necessary for uptimal result. Fotofacial treatments can be combined
with photoepilation, botox injections, micodermabration, fillers
like cymetra, and restylane.
Epilight
Epilight treatments reomove unwanted hair.
This process is called photoepilation. Photoepilation Treatments
are perfomed on different areas of the face, neck, underarm, chest
and bikini areas. Photoepilation using pulses of visible light that
effectively remove hairs by destroying the hair follicles.
Photoepilation will control also razor bumps. The heat energy
generated from the light pulse is selectively absorbed by the
pigment in the hair and carried down to the hair foolicle. The
color of light used is customised to the client's skin color, hair
color and hair thickness. Photoepilation treatments are not very
effective on blonde and gray hair. Shioma eye and cosmetic however
has a protocol for treating these hair types.
Pretreatment of the skin in certain skin types may be necessarry
for uptimal results in some skin types. Hair follicles produce hair
in cycles. Several treatment sessions, usually, 5, are therefore
necessary to eliminate hair growth from an area. More sessions
maybe required in some clients. Photoepilation treatments can be
safely used on all skin types. Photoepilation treatments can be
combined with fotofacial treatments, botox
injections, micodermabration, fillers like cymetra, and restylane.
Tatoo Removal
IPL tattoo removal can be performed on any part of the body.
Tattoo removal uses pulses of visible light that effectively
removes pigment containing cells of the tattoo. The heat energy
generated from the intense pulsed light, IPL is selectively
absorbed by the pigment laden cells which are disrupted to release
the pigment granules in the tattoo. These pigment granules are
picked up and removed by scavenger cells, macrophages. Several
treatment sessions are usually necessary. Lighter pastel colored
tattoos may be more difficult to remove.
Portwine, Spider Vein and Varicose Vein Treatment
IPL treament for portwine stain, spider vein removal can be
perfomed on any part of the body were these lesions occur.
Using pulses of visible light, IPL, or high energy Yag laser,
which penetrate the skin and is absorbed by the blood. The
temperature in the treated vessel is raised high eough to cause the
blood vessel to collapse and breakdown. The blood vessels almost
completely disappear over time.Several treatment sessions may be
necessary.
What Should I Expect During the Procedure?
Each treatment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Without a
topical anesthesia a mild amount of discomfort can be expected. The
use of ELA-MAX, or other specially formulated topical anesthetic
cream makes the procedure more comfortable. ELA-MAX is applied
30-60 minutes before the procedure. There is no discomfort after
treatments. Immediately following a treatment, the skin may appear
red and flushed but these changes gradually fade over a period of
hours to a few days. After the first session brown spots generally
appear darker but lightens with the susequent sessions.
Results?
Improvements after fotofacial treatments are gradual and will be
more visible after each treatment. Five treatments are performed
for optimal results. Some people will benefit from additional
treatments.
